Dunlea Centre is grateful to all the supporters, young people, and their parents and carers who have made 2015 another successful year.
We are appreciative for the commitment of all concerned because without your help and support, we would not be able to continue to guide and assist many young people in making positive changes in their lives.
2015 was highlighted by the 75th Jubilee since the Agency commenced operations in Engadine. This celebration was a perfect opportunity to show off the new workspaces and residential areas. It also coincided with the 200 year Jubilee since the birth of St John Bosco whose charism continues to underpin the program’s approach in working with young people.
The frequency of family talks increased throughout 2015 in order to reduce the waiting time for potential families to access the program. Over the course of last year, over 50 young people and their families were able to benefit from the Centre’s work.Furthermore, there was also an increase in monetary support from organisations and supporters which help make this all possible.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank our unsung heroes, the Dunlea Staff. Their commitment to helping and guiding our young people and their families in making positive changes in their lives is inspiring. We are thankful for their outstanding work and would like to highlight the massive effort they make in so many different ways to make this program a success.
In mid-2016 we anticipate the completion of the existing refurbishment and building project. The increase in capacity will potentially mean an increase in service provision. This would enable Dunlea Centre to address the needs of a broader range of young people and therefore provide many more opportunities for more young people in need to turn their lives around.
As you can see, we’ve had a great 2015, and we are looking forward to achieving a lot more in 2016. We would like to thank you once again for being such an important part of our success and hope you will remain with us in the year ahead.
