Term 1 Update

2020 has certainly delivered more challenges than could have been foreseen for everyone around the world.

COVID-19 has rapidly changed the way many services are currently being delivered, particularly in education and welfare support.

Dunlea Centre temporarily ceased face-to-face operations on Friday 28th March, a difficult decision to make but a necessary one to keep everyone in our community safe. Basically, the Agency is open for business but operating differently.

An extensive education and support service has been arranged for all young people and families currently enrolled in the program. The Teachers, Youth Workers and Residential Staff are working tirelessly to ensure that learning and skill development continue throughout this challenging period. All young people have access to the online program and resources.

Understandably, these uncertain and difficult times are challenging for young people, parents and carers. With this in mind, the Clinical Team has developed various avenues of therapeutic support, which are accessible remotely. These have been specifically organised with the prime objective of staying connected through regular contact with young people and families.

As with all services, the length of time this mode of program delivery will continue is open-ended. Dunlea Centre will continue to provide a diverse and engaging education and support service remotely until the agency is able to reopen its face to face services and welcome our young people and families back onsite. Regular updates will appear on this website.

Stay safe.
