The Leadership Team met earlier this afternoon and made a decision to re-open the site from Tuesday 28th April.
We understand that the last month has been difficult for everyone so we are keen to return to our regular program and have our young people onsite and fully engaged in both the education and residential settings.
We will continue with the increased cleaning regime, which we employed prior to the shutdown period to ensure we can provide the safest possible environment. There will be ongoing focus on personal hygiene and distancing measures. Classes will remain small, there will be limited contact between houses and there will be no excursions or visits offsite until further notice. Dunlea Centre remains committed to the safety and wellbeing of all our young people, families and staff.
Whilst Dunlea Centre will resume onsite services for all our young people, we understand and respect that, the decision to attend remains with our parents and carers. If a decision is made to keep a young person home, they will still be provided with an online learning program. Teachers will endeavour to engage in regular support with any young person utilising the online program, however this will not be at the level experienced prior to the holidays due to simultaneously running a full program onsite. Youth Workers, Clinicians and Residential Youth Workers will also continue to provide support to young people and families who are not in attendance.
