The Dunlea Dharawal Walk was officially opened with a smoking ceremony and a didgeridoo performance.
This outdoor learning space was designed in collaboration with the local aboriginal community and is dedicated to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture, recognition and history.
Dunlea teachers and young people will use the space for learning about the history, stories, spiritual connections, culture and activities of indigenous peoples. Our local Dharawal elders will be invited to share stories and build connections with Dunlea young people.
The Dunlea Dharawal Walk ultimately aims to promote an attitude of inclusiveness, encouraging young people and their families to develop greater on-going support for all indigenous peoples.
Dunlea Centre thanks Bob and Ben the Tree Men for the installation of the yarning circle and their ongoing support.
