New primary school intervention program launched

A Sutherland Shire youth organisation that helps children integrate back into mainstream schooling has expanded its offerings.

Dunlea Centre, Australia’s Original Boys’ Town, is dedicated to helping young people and their families overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. Established in 1939, it has been providing support and education services to children and young people in need for more than 80 years. Programs are designed to empower individuals, strengthen families, and build resilient communities.

The non-profit centre at Engadine launched a new primary school program to help younger children. At the beginning of Term 2, it began the program, which is offered to families in St George and Sutherland Shire.

Aimed at children in Year 3-6 (ages 8-12), this intervention-style, day-only program started with four participants, and now there are six enrolled, with more to come.
