Dunlea Centre Double Anniversary Celebrations!

November 2015 was an exciting time of celebrations. An open day marked a special anniversary – 75 years of Dunlea Centre proudly supporting troubled young people and their families.

The event, which was strongly supported by the public, also commemorated the 200th anniversary of the birth of St. John Bosco, whose work underpins the centre’s programs. Fittingly, the celebrations took place at the Engadine site, offering the perfect opportunity to unveil the two new classroom and living spaces. Generously supported by Federal Government funding, the buildings represent a significant step towards reconnecting with the community, through the provision of living and learning spaces for young people in crisis. Supporters, staff and young people kicked off the proceedings by singing the national anthem. Formal speeches, blessings and special dedications followed – showcasing the enduring achievements of the centre and all its supporters.
